The Outdoor Ensemble (Marching Band) is an ensemble that provides the society and family to which all the band students can belong.  This ensemble is made up of students from the Music Program as well as the general school population. During their time in the marching band, the students learn about responsibility, doing their part in the ensemble, and how to depend on one another in their pursuit of excellence. They learn to value and respect each other while searching for the beauty in everyone. They learn that staying away from negative thoughts helps create a positive environment where everyone can grow. This ensemble provides the students with great memories, long lasting friendships and amazing experiences throughout the way.

The Band of Gold is one of the most accomplished Marching Bands in the state of Florida. The marching band is a 4-time Bands of America Finalist as well a 8-time FMBC State Finalist. The Band was the 2011 FMBC Class 2A State Champion. Over the past 16 years they have competed throughout the state earning numerous First Place trophies including 4 Undefeated seasons. The band was named a “Demonstration School for the Arts” by the Florida Music Educators Association.  They are also a 2-time winner of the “Grammy” for the arts program. The band has performed at many events including Orange Bowl Parade and Pre-Game of Super Bowl. They have performed at venues such as the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Tropicana Dome in St. Petersburg, Orange Bowl & Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami, and the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

The marching band performs at Pep Rally’s and most home Football Games and select away games. Their first competition is the Falcon Sound Invitational where they have been crowned “back to back” Champions for Class 1A/2A in 2010 & 2011. They continue their competition season throughout the month of October & November until the FMBC State Competition in late November.

Marching band students are involved in summer rehearsals including Band Camp. Band Camp is 2 weeks before school starts and is required for all marching band students. During Band Camp, students work on the musical composition for the fall, Basics, Drill, as well as many fun activities (dodgeball, wampa, basketball tournament, red light green light, spirit week and many more). This group is made up of Wind, Percussion and Color Guard performers.
