On behalf of the Miami Coral Park Band of Gold, it is my pleasure to announce that we were awarded 1st place STATE CHAMPIONS at the annual Florida Marching Band Championship (FMBC) State Competition. The band won 1st place during our preliminary performance, also taking home the "Most Outstanding General Effect" award. We were one of five finalist groups to reach the second round out of the 28 total bands that participated in our class. The second round (Finals) consisted of the top 5 schools in each class (1A -2A - 3A - 4A and 5A). Classes are determined by the size of the wind section. The Band of Gold had their best performance of the year during Finals in front of over 12,000 people at the Tropicana Dome! The Band of Gold went on to be awarded Class 2A State Champion for their performance that night.

In addition, one of our students Nicole Fasco, was awarded a $500 music scholarship during the Finals awards presentation.

FMBC was our final and most important competition of the season. This feat has never been accomplished at Miami Coral Park Sr. High School and has only happened in Dade County once before. This has been an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. I am extremely happy to be working with some of the greatest kids, staff and parents in the world! Thank you!

Miami Coral Park Band "Rhythms of a City" Hialeah

Congratulations to the Band of Gold for being awarded Grand Champion at the Hialeah Showcase of Champions this past weekend. This is the first time in over a decade that the Band is awarded Grand Champion at Showcase.

The band took the top honors at Showcase being awarded best in Class AAAA in GE, Visual, Percussion, Color Guard, Drum Major, & WW's during prelims. They also were awarded best overall in GE, Visual, Percussion, Drum Major & WW's for the preliminary competition.

The band was not done yet. They had a much better finals performance, elevating the level of performance from prelims. The band took every single caption at finals, winning music after losing that caption during the prelims performance (only caption we lost), and took the top honors of the whole competition being crowned overall Grand Champion! What an amazing accomplishment!!!

Words cannot express how proud we are of our whole CP family. We have really elevated our level of preparation and efficiency this year and it has made a huge difference. I cant begin to express how proud we are of our kids for all the long hours they have put into this season. It has not been easy but its definitely been worth it. Keep pushing guys because we are not done yet! Thank you to the parents for all their contributions this year. You guys have made the biggest difference!! We would not be able to do any of this without you! A big thank you to the staff and anyone else who has had a part in making this amazing year possible.

Congratulations Band of Gold! We won our class AND EVERY CAPTION at the Falcon Sound Invitational yesterday. I could not be happier for the amount of work that was put in by all our band of gold family. I've been blessed to work at such a great place. Special thanks our amazing instructors: Jose Rivas (Love you bro), Devo Robinson, Ruben Rodriguez, Frank Paulino, Ariana Arguello, Mike Delgado, Dina Lopez, Julio, Ariel Vasquez, Ishi Vasquez, Carlos Pastran, Emily Perez, Matthew Padron, Gabriel Taveras, Dionisio Martinez, Tim Carson and our intern Jessica Amores.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all our amazing parents: Tania Lopez, Carmen Souffront, Julie Balbuena, Miriam Vasquez, Maria Garcia, Ana Aragon, Danny Rodriguez, Roman Vasquez, Robert Fasco, Martiza Fasco, Felix Maldonado, Lida Maldonado, Jose Alonso, Maria Corzo, Maypu Morrel and the rest of the parents that showed up and supported us yesterday.

Thanks to our amazing painters from South Miami Sr. High led by their phenomenal art teacher Ms. Lizzie Hunter. You guys rock!!

Thanks to Mr. Steve Rivero for hosting a great competition as always!

Lastly, thank you to our band students. Some of them I've know since 6th grade and I've watched them grow into amazing human beings. I love each and every one of them.

It feels great to feel the RAM PRIDE!!!

Thank you for everyone who came out to support the Band of Gold on our annual Pot Luck Dinner! I'm very proud of our students, marching staff and our wonderful parents for putting together such a great event. It's the beginning of a great season and I'm looking forward to many more great memories this year!
